Enjoy wonderful Chinese holidays from Sichuan.You can enjoy so many different kinds of Chinese holidays. Many people know about Beijing and the Great Wall of China and Shanghai.But there are so many other lesser known but just as fascinating places to see in and around Sichuan that make for great Chinese holidays. Let me tell you about some of these places. There are fewer Western tourists here but there is an extensive air, rail and bus network to get you around. Go to Chengdu in Sichuan Province. There are so many things to see including the Pandas at the world renowned Panda Research Station. Nearby is the largest Buddha statue in the world at Leshan and one of the world's oldest irrigation systems at Dujiangyan. Sail the mighty Yangtze River from Chongqing. Explore the Three Gorges starting from Chongqing. Visit the World Heritage listed ancient town of Lijiang – a unique experience because there is so much to see. Xian is the ancient capital of China. Visit the famous Terracotta Warriors but there are also many other wonderful things to see in the city of Xian. However do not ignore Beijing and Shanghai either. They are well worth the visit. Catch a plane from Chengdu or Chongqing after you have finished enjoying the delights of Sichuan. Bustling Shanghai has evolved into one of the great metropolises of the world. Also the shopping is great - just ask my daughter!
