Sichuan Province - a marvellous part of China!
Sichuan Province is known for many things - especially the Giant Panda Bear!
And of course the Giant Panda Bear needs no introduction - it is much loved throughout the world.
By all means see the Giant Pandas at the Chengdu Panda Research Station - a great place for a half day trip.
But also enjoy a Yangtze River cruise.
Several luxury boats leave Chongqing for a Yangtze River cruise to the famous Three Gorges area.
Or see the wonderful giant Buddha statues at Leshan.
There is lots to do in this part of China - much of it is wonderful and intriguing.
This part of western China is a place of great beauty.
Ancient and modern China co-exist side by side.
The Sichuanese people are so friendly and welcoming.
The cities are modern and the countryside is breath-taking
Going to China?
Thinking about it?
Want some hints and tips?
Just want some information about China?
Have a look at this area of China.
I spent two years living and working in this area of China from 2005 to 2007.
I have since returned for visits in 2008, 2009 and also for the Chinese New Year of 2012.
I worked with local Chinese people, travelled with them, ate in restaurants and drank in bars with them.
The Chinese people in this area are diverse, interesting and friendly.
Chinese girls and boys just love to practise their English!
There are many things I want to tell you about!
Szechuan food is so different yet delicious. Treat yourself to a culinary delight. You will never experience food like this anywhere else!
Experience Chinese Culture which hasn't been Westernised as much as Beijing or Shanghai. From Karaoke to Majhong to Chinese Opera - it is all there.
Modern China is something to see. In just a few short years modern buildings, transport systems and facilities have been built.
See large modern cities such as Chongqing and Chengdu.
And for a quieter time, visit breathtaking country areas such as Jiuzhaigou.
Or do both. It is all there!
The big cities such as Chengdu and Chongqing are particularly glamorous at night.
Brilliant light displays adorn buildings, bridges, trees and roads.
Typical Chinese style is to make them as bright and colorful as possible.
You will be particularly fortunate if you are there for the Chinese New Year.
Massive fireworks and additional lighting adds to an already impressive display!
It is truly magnificent.
Sichuan Province is an amazing place.
